On Saturday March 4th I will take part in a White Collar Boxing Match. My oponent Rachael and I are both going into the ring, not only to challenge ourselves mentally and physically, but to raise money and awareness for the Cancer Support Group Mallorca.
I think that cancer has touched all of our lives in some way, and most people have lost someone they love. My dad, and my friends Amanda, Leo and Julie all died from various forms of cancer. I am glad to say that I also know several people who survived cancer, and either recovered from it or are living with it now. And so many of these people were supported by the Cancer Support Group here in Mallorca.
The CSG is a small but dynamic organisation which operates entirely on donations. It helps people with translations in medical appointments, consuling, physical help when they need it, wigs, medical equipment, rehab and so much more.
Why am I doing this? Because I like getting punched in the face? No, because I know that with YOUR donations and support together we can raise a lot of money to keep this very important organisation going.
If you have lost someone to cancer, or you have a loved one who is fighting their own battle, please send me a message and I will add their name to my shirt and they can step into the ring with me on fight night.
